Hot Tub Guide — 1210 Tyndall Street

Welcome to the hot tub at 1210 Tyndall Street! Relax — it’s easier than it looks. Five minutes to open, two buttons to run. Here’s everything you need to know.

Quick Reference

  • Soaking temperature: 100–102°F (never above 104°F)
  • When you’re finished: set the temperature down to 98°F
  • Jets: press JETS — they auto-shut off after 15 minutes; press again for another round
  • Heat-up speed: about 1–1.5°F per hour — turn it up an hour or two before your soak
  • Maximum soak time: 15–20 minutes at a time, then take a break
  • Cover: always clip the cover back on when you’re done

Step 1 — Uncovering the Hot Tub

The tub has two covers: a thin black weather cover on top and an insulated hard cover underneath. Both come off in under a minute.

  1. Pull the thin black weather cover off the top and set it aside somewhere clean and dry.
  2. Unclip the safety buckles around the base — press the center tab on each buckle with your finger and the strap releases.
  3. Using the stitched handles, lift the front edge of the hard cover and fold it back onto itself.
  4. Slide the folded cover back onto the black support bar behind the tub. The bar holds the cover off the ground — no need to lift it off or lay it down.

Step 2 — Turning It On

Good news: the hot tub is always on. It stays plugged in and quietly maintains its set temperature around the clock, so there is no power switch to find. Everything is run from the small control panel on the rim of the tub, which has four buttons:

  • TEMP UP / TEMP DOWN (arrows) — set the water temperature
  • JETS — turns the massage jets on and off
  • LIGHT — turns the spa light on; press again right after turning it off to change colors

The jets shut themselves off after 15 minutes — that’s normal, not a malfunction. Just press JETS again for another round. The light turns itself off after a few hours if you forget.

If the display is blank or shows “–“, the tub may have just restarted after a power blip — give it a few minutes and it will sort itself out. If anything on the display flashes and won’t clear, don’t get in; message us instead.

Step 3 — Setting the Temperature

  1. Press either arrow button once — the display shows the current set temperature.
  2. Press the up arrow until the display reads 100–102°F. Each press moves it 1°F.
  3. After 5 seconds the display switches back to showing the actual water temperature.

Plan ahead: the water heats about 1–1.5°F per hour. The tub rests at 98°F between uses, so it only needs an hour or two to reach soaking temperature — turn it up when you start dinner and it’ll be ready after dessert. The cover must stay on while it heats; that’s what traps the heat in.

Please never set it above 104°F — the tub won’t allow it, and neither do we. 100–102°F is the sweet spot for a safe, comfortable soak.

Step 4 — Closing It Up When You’re Done

  1. Press the down arrow until the set temperature reads 98°F. This keeps the tub warm, healthy, and nearly ready for the next soak.
  2. Slide the hard cover forward off the support bar and unfold it flat across the tub.
  3. Clip all the safety buckles — push each strap into its buckle until it clicks. Give each one a light tug to confirm.
  4. Stretch the thin black weather cover back over the top so it covers the hard cover completely.

Clipping the cover matters more than it seems — it keeps heat in, rain and leaves out, and most importantly it keeps curious kids safe. Please never leave the tub open and unattended.

A Few Safety Notes

  • Soak 15–20 minutes at a time, then cool off. Hot water sneaks up on you.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times — in and around the tub.
  • No glass in or near the tub. Plastic cups only.
  • Skip the tub if you’ve been drinking heavily — alcohol and hot water are a bad combination.
  • Pregnant guests and anyone with heart or blood-pressure conditions should keep water at or below 100°F and check with a doctor first.
  • Shower off lotions and oils before you get in — the water stays cleaner for everyone.

Questions or anything not working right? Message us any time — we’d rather hear from you early. Enjoy the soak!
