Pittsburgh’s universities pull scholars from all over the world — a semester-long visiting professorship, a multi-month research collaboration, a sabbatical, a postdoc arriving before they’ve ever seen the city. They all need the same thing: a comfortable furnished place for a few months, sorted before they land, without a year-long lease.
Rivers & Steel City Homes offers move-in-ready furnished homes well-suited to academic stays, convenient to the universities and the Oakland knowledge corridor. Full kitchen, in-home laundry, fast Wi-Fi and a real workspace, parking, utilities included — and flexible terms that match a semester or a research timeline. For someone arriving from overseas, it’s a soft landing.
For the department admin or program coordinator booking on a scholar’s behalf, we keep it easy — one point of contact, flexible length, and billing that works with university or grant structures.
How we work: we source to match the dates, proximity (campus or the Oakland corridor), and any family needs — tell us the details and we’ll line up the right home, ideally with 30-60 days’ lead.
Tell us your dates and we will match or source your home — reach out here, or browse current stays. See the full guide: Corporate & Extended-Stay Housing → · Part of Extended Stays.
